The Dreamcast version of Croc 2 was intended for release after the Playstation and PC versions, and was to add minigames, a new village with presumably two more normal levels (as per "forty-two levels to play in total"). It is unknown if a prototype exists, but Jez San mentioned the port was "canned" implying development didn't get very far, if at all. It was officially cancelled in Autumn 2000. All according to the Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine.

=== Windows 98 version ===
The Windows 98 version of Croc 2 was meant to be a bridge between the Playstation and the Dreamcast version, containing many changes which may have been present in the Dreamcast version. As such, the prototype pictures of the Dreamcast version may have been pictures from the PC version. Besides having controller mapping, graphical settings and audio settings, the PC version had:
# A high quality and less blocky [[Croc]] model. Also applies to [[Croc's Family|Croc's family]].
#* Unfortunately in the PC version, Croc's mother lacks her eyelashes probably due to her spherical eyes. Her dialogue icon still shows she has eyelashes however.
# Takes the Playstation textures and smooths them.
# Dimmer and less colorful lighting.
# Changes the sign in Sailor Village to say "goodbye" instead of "Welcmoe to Oki-Doki."
# Unfortunately removes a song in Rescue the Ice-trapped Gobbos level. The song (popularly called "Save the Ice Trapped Gobbos 2") It was cut presumably to save space on the disc, as the size limit of the PC version was nearly met.
# Unfortunately removes the back number stamp on Croc's kart.
# Replaces the lower quality blue Swap Meet Pete Card in exchange for a higher quality Purple card.

This page is a list of all pre-release and betas of Croc 2.

!!IMPORTANT!! If you have a prototype of Croc 2 (or Croc: Legend of the Gobbos) that is undumped, please consider extracting it's ISO using imgburn and putting it on a google drive or submitting it to Hidden Palace. Since Argonaut games is defunct, you will not be penalized for making it available.

Croc 2 Sega Dreamcast Version

The Dreamcast version of Croc 2 was intended for release after the Playstation and PC versions, and was to add minigames, a new village with presumably two more normal levels (as per "forty-two levels to play in total"). It is unknown if a prototype exists, but Jez San mentioned the port was "canned" implying development didn't get very far, if at all. It was officially cancelled in Autumn 2000. All according to the Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine.

Minigames

The only thing known about the minigames is that there was more than one to be available.

Cowboy Village

Cowboy Village was probably meant to be the new village in the Dreamcast port. It was meant to be inhabited by the Cowboy Gobbos shown in promotional images. It would have two levels

Cowboy Gobbo

Seen only once in promotional art for Croc 2. He was meant for the cowboy village.

Cut Levels

The game files indicate three levels were cut from the game.
