This [[Wikipedia:Template messages|template]] is used hi in articles to identify sentences or short passages which need an [[Wikipedia:Citing sources|inline citation]]. It produces a superscripted notation like the following:

Use this template to "tag" information which may be questionable, so that other editors can know to back up the statement with citations, per [[Wikipedia:Verifiability]]. A [[Wikipedia:Bot policy|bot]] will date your entry with the month and year.
