There are two reasons why you should not edit while logged out: 1) doing so will reveal your [[IP address]]; and 2) people may accuse you of [[WP:SOCK|sockpuppetry]], i.e. trying to make yourself look like multiple users in order to gain the upper hand in a dispute or rig votes in polls.
