The following is a list of changes between the Playstation and PC versions of Croc 2.

Several changes occurred. Some good, others bad.

  • Croc's head is now smoothed with spherical eyes. Also applies to Croc's family
  • Unfortunately in the PC version, Croc's mother lacks her eyelashes. Her dialogue icon still shows she has eyelashes however.
  • Better graphics. (All textures are smoothed and some are recolored).
  • The PC version is capped at a resolution of 800x600 natively (so playing on a windows 98). It is compatible with modern day graphics cards non-natively.
  • Sailor Village was modified.
    • The "Welcome to Oki-Doki" sign was reversed and now "Bye-Bye!" is visible.
    • In the PC version, going North from the beach has you eventually walk on the first bridge. In the Playstation version you walk into a wall.
  • Unfortunately removes a song in Rescue the Ice-trapped Gobbos level. The song (popularly called "Save the Ice Trapped Gobbos 2") It was cut presumably to save space on the disc, as the size limit of the PC version was nearly met.
  • Unfortunately removes the back number stamp on Croc's kart.
  • Replaces the lower quality blue Swap Meet Pete Card in exchange for a higher quality Purple card.
  • The music, sound effects, and ambiance has been compressed slightly to conserve space. Both versions have Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, unlike the first game. As such, the Playstation version has better audio.

Bottom line is the Playstation version has worse, but brighter and more colorful graphics with significantly better audio, while the PC version removes some things (like the number stamp on Croc's kart and Croc's mother's eyelashes), changes some things (like sailor village), and has slightly worse audio in exchange for better graphics and configuration.
